1. What are you doing?
Well, currently we’re setting up our blog, but in the grand scheme of things, we’re finishing our last semester of college at the University of Pennsylvania, and then starting jobs at Facebook (Brynn) and Lockheed Martin (Emily) in California.
2. No, but seriously, what is this blog?
Ah yes. We’ve decided to try to go to as many bars in Philadelphia as we can before we graduate and write a blog about it! Inspired by The San Francisco Bar Experiment and The New York Magazine Approval Matrix, which we think are cool.
3. And who are you, anyways?
As we mentioned before, we’re seniors at Penn. We’re Emily and Brynn. We’re both engineers—didn’t see that one coming, did you? We like things like colorful nail polish, dancing in elevated places, and going to bars. The last one is particularly relevant. Also, we enjoy infographics, especially BAR graphs—see what we did there?
4. So what’s the game plan?
We’ve compiled a list of bars that look pretty cool, and have organized them by neighborhood. Each month will be dedicated to a different neighborhood. Every time we go to a new bar, we’ll take a picture, try a specialty drink, and assign ratings on a scale of -5 to +5. 0 is par…for the course. Hence the title. We’re also open to suggestions, so feel free to post your favorite bars in the comments! Or disagree with our ratings; we won’t take it personally.
